About Me:

I am an artist, musician and equestrian (in no particular order) with a passion for education. I graduated from the University of Ottawa with B.F.A. with honours and from the University of Ontario, Institute of Technology a B. Ed. with honours. After many years coaching, I received my certification as an Instructor through Equine Canada in 2010.  I enjoy working with horses and riders to improve their connection and enjoy the sport. I frequently attend clinics to keep myself learning and growing.

I have always been the one with doodles in my notebook at school and it didn't take long for me to decide that I wanted to pursue art. Art has been a shared family passion. One of my fondest memories was when my elderly grandfather, a talented artist, asked me to draw him a portrait of a horse, which he later kept on his nightstand. When I asked him why he wanted to keep it there, he responded:

"...because it is the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see at night."

I often think of that day and how important something as simple as a drawing or picture can be.

Who is Luna?

Luna was my first horse and perhaps, my first love. When I bought her, I was 16. She was 7 and had limited training. Although the early years weren't without there challenges, this sassy yet patient and forgiving horse taught me a great deal about horses and moreover, about myself.

I had Luna up until September 6th, 2010, when she succumbed to colic at the age of 19. I was devastated by the loss, but though she is gone, she will never be forgotten.
